Adelphine Pitter’s story is one of legacy, purpose, and a lifelong calling that seemed to choose her long before she ever stepped into the role of Managing Director of A&S Funeral Services.

Since 2013, when her father entrusted her with the company he had built with compassion and dignity, Adelphine has carried that legacy forward with a steady hand and a visionary mind. What makes her journey remarkable is how naturally her past experiences, passions, and professional strengths converged to prepare her for this chapter.

A Calling from Childhood

From a tender age, Adelphine displayed a curiosity and respect for the funeral profession that was far beyond her years. While other children might shy away from such solemn spaces, she was drawn to them, not out of morbid fascination, but out of admiration for the care, precision, and humanity her father and his staff brought to every service. She would eagerly attend funerals, quietly observing how her father comforted families, coordinated details, and upheld the dignity of every life honored. Those early experiences planted the seeds of a vocation she would one day fully embrace.

A Career Rooted in Service

Before stepping into her father’s footsteps, Adelphine built a distinguished career in hotel and tourism, accumulating over 30 years of experience in an industry centered on hospitality, empathy, and human connection. Her background as a tourism professional gave her the ability to anticipate needs, manage delicate situations, and create meaningful experiences, skills that translate seamlessly into funeral service.

She also holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology, giving her a strong scientific foundation that enhances her understanding of the technical aspects of the profession.

To deepen her expertise, Adelphine earned a Certificate in Funeral Science Education from Strafford Career Institute, further solidifying her commitment to professional excellence.

She is also a proud member of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), ensuring she remains connected to global standards and best practices.

Growing the Legacy of A&S Funeral Services

When Adelphine assumed leadership in 2013, she did more than continue her father’s work, she expanded it.

Under her guidance, A&S Funeral Services has grown in reputation, service offerings, and community trust. She has modernized operations, strengthened the company’s infrastructure, and introduced new approaches that reflect both tradition and innovation.

Her leadership is marked by a deep respect for the past and a clear vision for the future.

Relationships That Last a Lifetime

At the heart of A&S is Adelphine’s belief that every family deserves compassion, respect, and unwavering support. Her warmth and sincerity create bonds that last long after the service is complete.  Every family she touches becomes lifelong friends, a testament to the genuine care she brings to her work.

Her connection with her team is just as profound. Today, they stand with her not just as employees, but as extended family. Their shared history, trust, and loyalty form the backbone of A&S Funeral Services, creating a team united by purpose and strengthened by decades of connection.

Adelphine’s Promise of Care

With every step forward, Adelphine remains devoted to uplifting families, honoring lives, and continuing to shape the future of A&S Funeral Services with the same love, integrity, and dedication that have defined her journey from the very beginning.
